Appointed as President Commissioner since August 2, 2021. A person who has many awards including a certificate of award for installing the most household electricity connections in one province within 10 years while serving as Head of the ESDM Office of West Java Province in 2018 was given by the Indonesian Record Museum (MURI), subsequently received an online operation-worthy information system award certificate from the Governor of West Java in 2018. And in 2017 he received an award from Gatra Magazine with Anugrah Energi Lestari – Gatra. In addition, he has experience as a Commissioner at Bank Jawa Barat Banten (BJB) and has served as Assistant 2 for the Economy and Development of the West Java Provincial Government. In the course of his education, he earned his Postgraduate (S2) degree at IHE-Delft Netherlands with a study of Environmental Science in 1992 and at ITB with a study of Development in 1999.
Appointed as the Commissioner of PT. MIGAS HULU JABAR ONWJ on October 18, 2024, until now. Andang Bachtiar previously served as the President Commissioner of PT. MUJ Energi Indonesia from July 2022 to October 2024. He was also a member of the National Energy Council from 2014 to 2019, Chairman of the National Exploration Committee since 2015, and Secretary-General of the Association of Oil and Gas and Renewable Energy Producing Regions from 2015 to the present.
Andang Bachtiar has also worked as an Operations, Development, and Exploration Geology Expert with HUFFCO/Vico Indonesia, serving as Chairman, Commissioner, and Chief Expert at Geosain Delta Andalan (GDA) Consulting in Jakarta. In organizational roles, Andang Bachtiar has been very active as the Chairman of the Indonesian Association of Geological Experts (IAGI) for two terms, namely from 2000 to 2002 and from 2002 to 2025. He has also played an active role as a technical speaker/member of the Expert Team for the Ministry of Environment and Forestry regarding Hazardous and Toxic Waste (B3), Oil and Gas Environmental Impact Assessment (AMDAL), Mining, and Permits for Produced Water Injection Wells from 2000 to 2015. From 2002 to 2014, he was a member of the Expert Council for Oil and Gas Producing Regions Consultation (FKDM) in Indonesia.
From 2006 to 2013, he served as Chairman, Commissioner, and Chief Expert at the Indonesia Exploration Think Tank, and from 2009 to 2015, he was a member of the Advisory Board of the Indonesian Association of Geological Experts (IAGI).
In academia, Andang Bachtiar was a lecturer for the Sedimentology and Seismic Sequence Stratigraphy courses in the Bachelor’s Program in Geological Engineering at the Medan Institute of Technology from 2009 to 2015 and taught Sedimentology and Seismic Sequence Stratigraphy in the Bachelor’s Program in Reservoir Geophysics at the University of Indonesia.
Andang Bachtiar’s educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Geology from ITB, graduated in 1984, a Master of Science in Geology from the Colorado School of Mines, Golden, CO, USA, graduated in 1991, and a Doctorate degree in Geology from ITB, graduated in 2004.

Appointed as Director of Finance and General Affairs in April 2018. Previously served as Director of Finance and General Affairs of PT. MUJ ONWJ since April 2015. Obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting at STEI Indonesia in 2006. Appointed as President Director of PT. MUJ ONWJ since 2022
